Rear Seats and Children

Postby Dave » Sun Oct 15, 2006 10:54 pm

The new booster seat law apparently doesn't apply in "some 2 + 2 sports cars or convertibles have small rear seats" because they "are certified to UN ECE 44.03 type approval standards" http://www.thinkroadsafety.gov.uk/campa ... ats.htm#14.

Does this apply to the XJS?

I suspect not, in which case, is there a "low profile" booster seat available? The problem is that my 8 year old's head is above the back of the rear seat when he's on the booster seat, so he'd be subject to whiplash.

I do not know if there is a low profile booster seat but I have 3 children and the 2 boys sit in the back with no booster and my daughter is in the front on a booster - simple reason is that a booster does not really work in the back even with a 7 year old. My 2 sons 9/10 fit perfectly and a booster only puts them at risk as just like you, their heads are above the seat back.
