Has anyone looked at the possibility of a full tonneau cockpit cover for the convertible?

This is what I use 90% of the time on my other sportscar - a Morgan 4/4 - & it is very convenient for quickly hiding the contents & protecting the upholstery from the elements, when leaving it for a short time. It also helps keep the heat in, when driving alone on a fine day, in winter.

By comparison, my Celebration Convertible (with its beautiful, but useless, back seats instead of the preceding series' lockable box) totally lacks any form of lockable space within the cabin - and it is tedious to remove the hood-tonneau, to erect the hood, every time one leaves the car for even a few minutes. -- followed by the reverse performance, on returning!

A full-tonneau could be an answer -- has anyone tackled this, or solved the lack of lockable cabin space in the facelift/Celebration convertibles?

Hi - I agree with your sentiments and would seriously consider buying a full tonneau if somebody knows where to get them. I have no garage and use a high quality fitted exterior cover for my XJS facelift convertible (plenty of covers advertised in JEC mag). When we do (rarely, but more often than Stirling) get settled weather, I leave the hood down overnight and just chuck the cover over, takes about 15 seconds, saves worrying about dew or rain, and saves all the aggro of hood up/down and fit/unfit hood-cover etc.

Wouldn't do this away from home however - somebody would no doubt nick the cover!! - perhaps they nick full tonneaus as well ??

I do have the lockable box, which is indeed good for safe storage. However the dog will not fit in there, so he messes up the passenger footwell instead. He goes fine on the back seat of my XJ40 and I sometimes wish my XJS did have the seat!! Lets hope we find a suitable tonneau product.
