Quad headlights - same on pre / post facelift...?

Hi all,

I'm thinking of buying second hand quat headlight bezels as one of mine is broken. Does anyone know if they were the same on all years of XJS?

The seller says that they are but I'm not so sure.

Hi. I took a look at the SNG catalogue and they list different numbers for pre and post facelift cars. I have just converted my pre FL and was lucky enough to get new old stock. good luck

Hi there, and thanks for the reply.

I thought as much but wonder if the bezels themselves are the same but with different brackets / lights / fixings for the facelift cars.

I guess it comes down to if the light apperture on post and pre facelift cars are the same shape.

Simon,

Basically the aperture is the same. You can even get pre-facelift lights to fit on facelift models. Pre-facelift quads will just about fit on a facelift car (with a bit of effort) and I suspect any probs are because of the bracket and framing not the bezel shape.

There are far more pre-facelift quads around than facelift ones. I would expect that most 2nd-hand bezels are for pre-facelift cars and will go for less money. As you've got an early car, I suspect you'll be safe or else you can sell them on.
