Thinking of getting a second hand F-Pace

There are a couple in main stealers near me. One is a 'chequered flag' edition. Both 2020 cars. Petrol . Portfolio has done 10k, CF done 20k. CF £2k more.

Anything to watch out for? Is CF worth it? Got a few more bells and whistles and different trim I see from spec list. Heated Steering wheel! The Mrs will love me forever so it must be worth it!

(Keeping the XK btw, Will be trading in my 2018 Evoque)

Hi Steve, as you may know, I am a Range Rover fan and, whilst I have not owned the F-pace I have had many on extended test drives and have never been impressed. I would suggest you ask the dealer for a decent length test drive in both in order that you may make up your own mind, but be prepared for comparisons with your Evoque.
Whilst a heated steering wheel is a must up here in the Northeast, not so sure it is a major selling point in the Southwest!

I am also thinking about purchase of Used F -Pace
On Land Rover Evoque and Discovery with 2.0D engine have suffered PAS rack electrical motor bolt failure ,
As the same engine [correct me if wrong] fitted in F-PACE does it suffer same defect ?

What happened to Land Rover steering motor bolts?
However, in July 2019 the DVSA issued a statement: “The manufacturer has recognised the fault with the steering motor bolts breaking on Range Rover Evoque and Discovery Sport vehicles.” The DVSA then recommended that Land Rover conducted a voluntary recall to rectify those vehicles with Aluminium bolts that could potentially fail> not sure if this happen ?.

PAS BOLTS UPDATE >Good news for Jaguar F-Pace owners

I have since found out from Manager at approved JLR Dealership that Subject PAS bolts were only supplied to Land Rover Factory /Vehicles,
JLR have identified the subject batch of bolts [ missed treatment process] were fitted to certain group of mainly Discovery models from 2016 to 2019 , owners should have been notified and costs covered by JLR.

There don't appear to be any current technical bulletins about a steering rack bolt issue on either the F-pace or the Evoque. I believe Jaguar and LR part numbering systems are being, or are about to be, rationalised but at the moment, the part numbers for the steering racks of the two marques and models are different. Hence, they may or may not be different components. Mike.

Hi Steve,

The feature that I find really useful on the larger cars including the SUVs is the 360 degree cameras - makes parking/manoeuvring easier.

The infortainment system version is worth taking note of - the in-control Touch pro is better than the standard in-control touch and the privi pro is better again. I also like the elcetric seats, and the electric steering column is helpful in entering/exiting the car as it moves out of the way.

Getting used to the adaptive cruise control is not straightforward but once mastered it is also a useful addition.

I see the 'Guardian' mode has now appeared on the latest app which, when set, gives an immediate alert to your phone if the car is interfered with in any way.

Good luck with your search - looks like used car prices are favourable at the moment (Px might be low through)

We got the 'Chequered Flag' one from Marshalls at Gloucester today.

Got us home ok! In fact I found it so smooth and quiet that I kept creeping up to 90 coming down the M5. Need to be careful!

Will see how it goes.
