All-season tyres

Does anyone have any experience of all-season tyres? I am currently on 255/55/19 P-Zeros and would prefer an all-weather tyre. I find the P-Zeros quite noisy, and I do experience some tram lining. I have a 250 diesel with AWD.

I think I would prefer to stay with the Jaguar recommended tyres, but I have fitted Maxis all-weather tyres on another car and can only compliment them. Recommendations welcome!

I run 255/55 R19 111W Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season M+S instead of the Pirelli P-Zeros it came with. Much quieter and with much more grip - no more tyre skipping as soon as it gets cold. They are supposed to give better fuel consumption as well, but I can't say I have noticed a huge difference.

I have often considered changing to all season or swapping to winter tyres for the colder months but there just does not seem to be the justification here in the south east of england - has anyone else made the change?

I would agree that there is little need to swap to winter tyres unless you live in a high altitude area that is prone to snow. I have lived in the Peak District and we always swapped summer and winter tyres - it was pretty much essential if you need to get out everyday. The effect was marked and the difference was astonishing. It is not hype, winter tyres actually work.

My experience was that winter tyres are MUCH more helpful than AWD! On a FWD car I think winter tyres will cover most situations and even with RWD they will help a great deal.

I now live in more mellow territory in the east midlands where we don't see snow very often but of course there is the winter ice and frost. Hence my desire to change to all-season tyres, it avoids the cost of changing twice per year. I believe all-season are a compromise, so you need to make a judgement based on your own circumstances. But with the weather we get all across the UK now, I think all-season tyres are coming into their own. I reckon the AWD F-Pace and all-season tyres will keep me safe - and if there's a good layer of snow I'll stay at home!

Well it's taken a while to get back to this, but I did change to those Pirelli Scorpion all-seasons (with the LR marking) as recommended by @Lucky. My experience so far as been all positive.
I noticed the ride was better, and I do believe 1-2 mpg improvement. Certainly it cured the clunking/skipping at low speed on full lock. I am starting to notice that again now, but I have reduced the pressures recently. I had them at 38 psi (should be 34) which might have been the source of the better mpg.
My local supplier fitted all 4 for only £700 (not cheap tyres but could have been a LOT worse) so overall I would recommend, irrespective of the weather.
