Charging an E-Pace

I would have posted this in the electrical section but that is not working.
I own an E-Pace which I cannot use for the foreseeable future because of the safeguarding lockdown. I am aware that each time I move the car onto the drive I am discharging the battery and as a result I have ordered a Ctek battery charger. However I am told that some of the JLR cars do not like to be charged across the battery and would like to know how to charge my car. The manual essentially says if you need to charge the car contact the dealer. But I am not getting an answer there.

Thanks
Neil Jervis

As long as you use a conditioner which doesn't exceed 14.8 volts (a CteK is fine), there isn't anything particularly unusual about the E-Pace's electrics to worry about. Connecting a fly lead to the battery is the most convenient way of hooking up a battery conditioner to the E-Pace. Mike.

Thanks Mike

I have a CTEK 5 looking after the car now. After leaving the car locked in the garage for 6 weeks it took the charger at least 9 hours to charge the battery to the 80% point. I also charged my SS100 which had been sitting for the same time but had a 10 year old battery. It took 3 hours to reach 80%. I have now hardwired a charge socket onto the car and the lead comes out from under the bonnet near the windscreen and all seems well.

Yours Aye
Neil

With the lock-down, we've all had these problems. Oh, to be able to keep our batteries charged by driving... Mike.
