Anti-lock light

Hi everyone,

The anti-lock warning light on my 94 XJS is on permanently when in gear. The handbook states that I should "take the car to an approved dealer immediately". The brakes appear to be working fine, and I'm broke post-Christmas, so is this advice I can ignore (if only for a short while)?

Hi Milan,

I’m not sure if it helps, but I had a similar intermittent problem on my V12. I got a second hand ABS Accumulator sphere from ebay (not realising that SNG do a new part) and had it fitted by my mechanic in Camberwell. Since then fingers crossed all is well.

I got the part for around £30 I think.

New (which I recommend) is probably around £110.

I don’t think it’s a screw off screw on job as I believe the system has to be bled.
