I had to post to say how impressed I am with the XJS. I am an owner of only 2 months and am more and more impressed with my XJS. Today i had the choice of my 530i (2003) Mini Cooper S (2003) or the XJ for a trip to Bristol. I chose the XJ. OK so it needs a bit of bodywork (around the offside side indicator and rear nearside arch) and it needs new bushes but I travelled at 90mph down the M5 (I think my speedo is out officer), in total comfort, new CD player playing dulcet tones of Alex Parks, plenty of power under my left foot (whichever pedal I used) and still managed a creditable 23mpg. Arrived fresh and ready for a meet and had a number of admiring glances too (assume correctly at the car not me)!
My car has done 146,000 miles, looks great in a kid of metallic BRG, didn't miss a beat. For the money I'm well impressed. Once I've sorted out the various bits and bobs i'll keep this one for some time (unlike my other cars which I change like the wind.

Please forgive me for asking but I just wondered why you were driving with your left foot? Left foot braking - maybe - I suspect we all do that, but left foot on accelerator??

There are some great jokes lurking in here but they're all too rude or offensive to post..............shame

I will however steer a wide birth of Metallic Green XJS's doing 90 on the M5........now is that the left hand lane? or the fast lane? or the right lane? or the wrong ong one????

When ever my eleven year old son and I approach the car he always tries to get in on the right and I have to tell him to go round! I am assuming he is ahead of his years thinking he can drive rather than confused. Perhaps he was an european in his previous life!

DH Dove, understand your concern, and your quite left to steer clear of my car on the M5 or anywhere else. Not had an accident yet but seen plenty!!
