XE Front lower bumper side vents

Wondered if any member can tell me if it is necessary to remove the front bumper in order to remove the two lower left and right air vents in the bumper. Looking at the front grille, that looks like a bumper off to remove it.

According to Jaguar, the bumper has to come off. If you manage it without removing the bumper, a description of how you managed would be good! Mike.

I noted an online pdf file you can buy as a workshop manual for the xe on e bay. Around £25 and you receive a link in your e bay message box to download the data which includes all aspects of the car incl bodywork. Might buy it.
