Sensitive door handles

Postby mike020150 » Sat Oct 07, 2017 10:33 am

One small issue about my newly acquired XE which has surprised me is the sensitivity of the door handles. When I wash the car using a hose, water spray on the handles is enough to cycle the locking function. I have never known this happen on other Jaguar models so before I tackle a dealer with the query, can anyone tell me if it happens on other XEs with keyless entry? Mike.

I don't have an XE but my Mercedes GLC43 AMG does exactly the same so I leave my key several metres away and then it is Ok. Mercedes says this is normal for their cars.

Thanks Paul. That's some comfort, there's nothing that needs addressing. Mike.

My 2017 XE S is the same: I try to remember to leave the key fob out of range.
