2015 XE 340 S oil change at 11,000 miles. I understand it could probably go on for some time yet but although it’s very low mileage, it’s quite old, so I’m going to change it anyway.
It seems a pretty straightforward and standard process to replace the oil & oil filter. I’ve done so many over the years I’ve lost count.
7.25 litres of SAE 0W-20 and a standard oil filter would appear to be the requirements. Has anyone got any views on which oil please? I’m not going to skimp, probably something like Castrol Edge but I’d welcome any input or tips.
Cheers, Mac.

Re: Oil change
Hi Mac,
Certainly will not do any harm in changing your oil early despite the information given by the manufactures.
Castrol Edge is a good choice although Motul,Fuchs and Milles are all top brands as well.
I use Castrol Edge in my XJ8 and it's changed every year regardless of mileage.
I think it comes down to personal choice really.
Always use genuine oil filters though, they might be a bit more expensive but at least you know it's going to do the job correctly.
Hope that helps,take care.

Re: Oil change
The oil spec listed by Jaguar is SAE 0W20 STJLR.51.5122, so it's as well to look for oils which comply with this standard. Mike.

Thanks Mike - again.
This one seems to tick the box.

Re: Oil change
Buying the correct oil, these days, is almost an academic exercise in itself. Wading through all the specs and the marketing jargon, it's all too easy to get it wrong and, unfortunately, getting it wrong can have consequences for today's engines with their complicated variable valve gear and similar issues.
