Rear Hub Bearings - Assume there is no adjustment?

Hi,
I have slight play in the O/S/R hub bearing. The N/S/R seems fine. I noticed it when routine checking the car this weekend, ride is fine with no vibrations or noise. Wasn't picked up in MOT 2000 miles ago.
XJS 1994 with the revised normal disc setup (not inboard). Mileage 99,000.
You can feel very small movement from top to bottom not side to side (less play than front hub clearance which was recently set at 2 thou).
I'm thinking that I will need to replace the bearings soon and there is no adjustment possible.
Would be great if someone could confirm this, and if anyone has paid a Specialist to do this for them, how many hours labour are involved. With the tools and presses needed, I think a Specialist route is best in my case.
I'm also hoping that this is not one of the cases where both sides should be done together!
Thanks for any advice you can give,
Mike
