V12 auto to manual conversion

Postby chinaman20 » Thu May 08, 2008 7:29 pm

Hello all.
I would be very grateful on any advice for my problem. I have a 85 xjs V12 which has been converted to a 5 speed manual( i was told its a getrag). the problem is that the propshaft is vibrating because at the gearbox end is what i would call a "rubber doughnut" which is cracked and also the propshaft looks a different type to the standard one in haynes book.
I cannot ask the previous owner since he passed away and the family just wanted to sell the car.
Does anyone know what components might be used? or any firms that do such conversions.
Any help would be great. ]

hi, your gearbox is a getrag and is basicly the gearbox off a 3.6 xjs. the mounts should be the same as the 3.6 as is the prop shaft. the prop will have been shortened by 20mm and rewelded. im after a conversion myself at the mo so if you dont want it then please let me know. cheers chris.
