XJS slave cylinder overhaul.

A while back in the printed magazine, the proud owner of a very late manual car mentioned suffering a weeping clutch slave cylinder, the complete absence of replacement cylinders and overhaul kits, and that nothing else could be adapted to fit.

For some reason, it came to mind today that any engineering shop would be able to bore out the cylinder for re sleeving, and turn up a replacement piston to suit available seals, which could be from anything with an appropriate bore.

Thanks Phil. I did suggest to the owner that he could have his existing cylinder refurbished but I don't know if he did.

I have contacted Gordon Lewis who is the owner of the late manual convertible car we featured in the magazine back in October.
His clutch slave cylinder was leaking and I suggested to him that he use Past Parts (www.pastparts.co.uk) to have it rebuilt. He confirms that he did just that and it now works perfectly and he's a happy man!
