My car (93' 6ltr Conv) runs quietly and smoothly for most of the time, however when the "sports" mode is selected the car seems to whine somewhat. Is this normal? Is it the rear diff? Should i worry?!!!

Is it whining all the time in Sports mode or just when you pull away? Sports mode on those boxes varies the change-up and change-down points but basically is using all the same bits of the box as in Normal mode. The only difference is that in Sports mode it pulls away in 1st gear, whereas in Normal mode it pulls away in 2nd gear. So I was wondering if the noise relates to 1st gear?
