Auto causing stalling

Postby daveyb » Sat Sep 08, 2012 10:32 pm

On a normal run my ’92 4.0 auto behaves perfectly, but when I am making tight manoeuvres i.e. getting it lined up to put it in the garage backwards and forwards several times in such a tight space it will stall, then refuse to start.

If I leave it for half an hour, it will run enough to get it into the garage but the gearbox light comes on and the engine misses the odd beat. The next day it will be completely fine until I try tight manoeuvres again.

Anyone got any ideas? :(

Davey

Power steering pump seizing?

This would cause the engine to stall during low speed high rate of turn manoeuvres at low rpm.
