Gearbox warning light

Any thoughts/comments on the following greatly appreciated.

Gearbox warning light comes on when ignition turned off and remains on even when key removed from ignition!

If I restart the car the light goes off and the car appears to be driving normally changing through gears as you would expect. But no light whilst driving.

There's a gremlin in the electrics I think. I was playing around with the relays in the left handside front compartment (engine bay) today before the light started to appear. But none of them are transmission related as I understand it ????

My fault!

Put the two relays nearest the bulkhead back in the wrong way round. What they have to do with the transmission light is still a mystery to me but it's sorted the problem.
