Sticky Exhaust valves

Postby pecksta758 » Wed Sep 18, 2024 12:44 pm

We have the common issue of a sticky exhaust valve on the drivers side, i have freed it and lubricated it with high temp grease but seems like i was stuck before we purchased the car and the spring in the actuator is now weak, does anyone know if the actuators can be replaced?

Jaguar doesn't supply actuators separately but, if your car has the vacuum operated system and that is the source of the problem, the vacuum solenoids are available as spare parts. A VIN number would be necessary to confirm if these were appropriate to your car. Mike.

Assuming the problem relates to the mechanism, rather than lack of vacuum. The two businesses with a lot of experience in replacing the the valves are Tony Banks (Leeds) and Modstock (Epsom Surrey). Modstock travel around the UK on a regular basis, by booking a number of customers together to make the trip worthwhile.
