Fresh MOT (No advisaries so I must be doing something right?)
CO Max = 3.500 Actual 0.887
HC Max = 1200 actual 465
Pleasantly suprised, possibly clean due to a couple of of recent thrashings around the Hampshire and Dorset countryside.

Was it actually running at the time of the test?

Well done Pop!
It just goes to show how quickly technology and engine design improves. My AJ16 4.0 XJS, built only 3 years after the last 3.6, recorded a CO of 0.05 and an HC figure of 24ppm on its last MoT.

Mine was a marginal pass earlier this year with the examiner basically saying that he had to really rev the engine to get the cats to cut in. I'm guessing that new O2 sensors will be needed next year. Might just replace as a service item given the age of the vehicle. That said I do try and keep it well looked after so don't know whether this should encourage longevity.

Re: eMission control - we (don't) have a problem!
Nick,
It could just be that the engine temp had dropped out a bit before they did the emissions test. I took my 4 litre for a test a few weeks ago and just tried to warm up the car in the storage unit rather than driving it, because it was raining. I then drove it into the MoT station next door.
They needed to blip the throttle a few times before the emissions dropped out. But it did then manage a CO of only 0.1% and HC of 13ppm.
Interestingly I took our XJ220 in for its MoT this morning (which gave me the excuse to drive this phenomenal car for 6 miles!) And for the second year running it managed a CO of 0.0% and HC of 0ppm! Who said a 26 year old supercar can't be environmentally friendly?!
