Pre He driving me nuts

Hi . Got a 1980 P digital . It's driving me daft trying to get it running right .

If the vacuum pipe is attached to the ecu it won't start (fires and dies)

Disconnect it and starts straight away - 1300 rpm cold , eases down when warm to 750ish . Revs nice ( smokes though )but try to hold 2500ish and not smooth - missing. Connect the vacuum when warm at idle and it dies .

If I can hold it at 2500 and connect the vacuum it sounds sweet and no visible emissions.

Any suggestions?

seized bob weights in the distributor??

I've had the cap off and it seems to rotate and spring back ok but I'm not an expert with this engine yet
