Timing Chain Issues V6 V8

On the hunt for a V6 or V8 but knowing the engines share same timing chain layout I contacted Sir Ralf Speth's office at JLR and found out revised timing chain/tensioner/guides were fitted from VIN ending K06170.

A bit of ringing cars of varying ages via Autotrader and asking for VIN's makes me believe V6/V8's had new components fitted in F-Type from back end of 2014 build.

Anyone with an early F Type had timing chain etc. updated and know cost, labour hours etc?

Further to my email sent Thursday 30th July 2020, regarding the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) in reference to your original timing chain query.

Please allow me to confirm that, following communication with my technical team they have advised that only the V8 from VIN K06170 has the improved timing components the V6 is not affected.

Thank goodness for the clarification. I hadn't got around to checking but thought the V6 comment by your source was rubbish. As has been noted previously in other V8 timing chain threads, the final XK/XKR models shared the full range of timing chain changes as the F-Type V8s. Mike.
