Looks like I'm the first to post a 'New Arrival' in 2024. I have purchased a 2015 F-Type V6 3.0L with just 18,000 miles from Stratstones of Nottingham. The car is being MOT'd and sorted for delivery, hopefully at the end of this week. If anyone knows its previous owner/s I would love to make contact. Registration CU65 KJV.
Now found that the car had a previous private plate registration number A7 MSG. The owner (Mr Green) purchased the car from Stratstones of Swansea.

Re: Can't Wait for my F-Type
Congratulations on getting such a lovely F-TYPE.
The colour is just right for the car and its a nice milage - not too high but enough that it hasn't just sat around.
Would you be interested in writing something up about your such for an F-TYPE for the JEC Magazine?
If so please send it to ftype@jecmodels.org.uk
If not do come along to some JEC events - if you are at any national events keep an eye for me and come and say hello - I am the F-TYPE Model Section coordinator.
Enjoy the car,
John

Will write an article and I am booked into the Summer Festival and Simply Jaguar at Beaulieu, but not sure whether I will be bringing the F-Type or my XK8 Convertible. Depends whether the sun is out!

I will be at both the Jaguar Festival and Simply Jaguar at Beaulieu so do look out for me - I have a Caldera Red F-TYPE Coupe - its often in the magazine so do look out for me.
I am very envious that you have both an XK8 Convertible and the F-TYPE - perfect combo I think.

Now found that the car had a previous private plate registration number A7 MSG. The owner (Mr Green) purchased the car from Stratstones of Swansea. It also was re-registered with the private plate N8 GPR. in the Nottingham area. Does anyone know the owner?
Re: Can't Wait for my F-Type
Stratstones Nottingham burst my balloon!!! After just a few days of ownership of my glorious F-Type, I had occasion to look underneath the car. I was dismayed to find that there was an oil leak coming from the differential. Checking out the Government MOT website, I found that Stratstones had recorded when they undertook a MOT, an advisory of this oil leak back in August 2022. A further MOT in December 2023 by Stratstones had not recorded this leak and the garage undertook another MOT prior to delivery in March 2024 and again no mention of the oil leak was made. Also, I noted that the rear exhaust pipe was making a rattling sound and having an independent Jaguar agent look at it, he indicated that it sounded like loose metal particulars and would appear that the baffle was breaking up in the silencer.
After much discussions with Stratstones, they confirmed that a 165 Jaguar Multi-Point inspection check was carried out prior to sale and nothing was found to be wrong. They agreed to collect the car from my address in Essex and look at what was needed to be done.
After two weeks they eventually brought the car back, although I had to fight to get it brought back on the day they promised.
Now I have had the differential oil seal replaced and a new rear silencer at a cost of £2,500 to Stratsones!!!! I also got a copy of their preparation invoice before sale which included but not limited to a full service, discs and pads which cost them £1,600.
Now my balloon is inflated and the cars a dream. However, I would not recommend Stratstones Nottingham for buying your next Jaguar!

Re: Can't Wait for my F-Type
Question. My F-Type is not popping and banging with the Dynamic and actuators open? I wondering whether the dealership has undertaken a software update that prevents the popping and banging. Does anyone know if this something Jaguar implemented? If so, can it be reversed?

Re: Can't Wait for my F-Type
There was indeed a bulletin about controlling exhaust noise which applied to several models. Knowing that the bulletin applied to my XKR, I have tried checking if it would have applied to your F-Type (which I believe it did). However, the bulletin now appears to have been deleted from Topix. You may have seen online comments from other owners about the loss of exhaust noise after the revised Jaguar software had been applied. The objective of the revised software was to ensure that the affected Jaguars complied with appropriate noise legislation. Consequently, I suspect that no main dealer would contemplate reversing the changes. Mike.
