I have PM'ed James about a "C" & "D" type replica register. We will see what happens.

I wouldn't worry about getting a Register built at this stage. All the other model record registers were pulled a year ago and still haven't been put back. Just ask James to set up a separate "C&D-type Replicas" sub-section under the "Other Models" forum.

Hi Steve,
Just to say please do start a build thread. I would be very interested, as im sure will others.
My own build thread is over in the Nostalgia section. I started it because when I was doing my build I found it hard to find information from other builders - so thought I would create the thread to help anyone who comes after me.
Have fun with it.

Hi....yes had a reply that it was going to be taken up with the commity.......sorry for the dissapointment but the project has been delayed....i will be starting soon but due to other commitments wont have the time to do a build thread.......will post occasionally on progress.....thanks all for your interest..... Hi, I'm trying to revive this thread. I am the proud owner of a Realm C Type. I've owned it since April 2019. I had big plans for this year, Le Mans Classic, Silverstone Classic etc.....
It was Ecurie Ecosse blue when I bought it and I tried have to turn it into a (very) approximate replica of XKC 052, the car that finished 4th at Le Mans in 1953 driven by Peter Whitehead and Ian Stewart.
It's based on a Series 3 XJ6 (a Daimler actually!) 4.2, it uses the engine, suspension and brakes from the donor but has a Supra 5 speed box. It appears to have triple SU carburettors, but they are actually modified to act as throttle bodies for the fuel injection. The whole car was built to a very high standard, with many nice touches and drives very well....

Tony, Good luck in trying to revive this thread. It does seem a shame that it has become moribund. I think that it is due to the fantastic success of the Suffolk site on Faceache plus the replicas site on the JDC site. I continue to monitor this site along with Neil and maybe a few others but nothing much seems to happen. I will await your comments with interest.
