Hello Neil,

Thank you. Yes, the car is looking great. It is due for delivery w/c 17th April and I can't wait. There is a forthcoming article in Jaguar World but I don't know which month.

If the number of photo locations is any guide the car will be well run in by the time you get it. It has been every where.

Neil,
Yes, I asked them to put some miles on it just to make sure all is well. I had a frustrating first few months with the SS due to faults which could have been picked up by the factory running it for a bit.
Most of the pictures are "staged" as I made certain that the journalist that was writing the article didn't even sit in it let alone drive it.

:D Chaps,
Well, the "C" duly arrived on Tuesday and, after a quick check on what I needed to know to drive it, 12 volts on, fuel pump on, ignition on and hit the button, the Memsahib and I were off for our first run. WOW, what a machine, a very visceral, analogue car. No toys just the driver and the machine----LOVE IT!!!, however, one thing the works had forgotten when road testing it was that there would be two of us in the car thus it grounded about 4 times in 20 miles which meant some damage to the rear valence plus some other minor teething problems hence, today it was back on a low loader to be sorted at the works.
I await its return with baited breath, I only hope it is o.k.
It is surprisingly comfortable once you are in it, the feel of it must be as close to driving at Le Mans ( or in my case the Mille Miglia ) as it is possible to get. It isn't too loud but it certainly lets you know it's working. We certainly got a number of thumbs up from aware people. I suppose the best thing about it is its sublime beauty. If I never drive it, I can just sit and look at it. I hope to be able to take it to be photographed outside the house where Malcolm Sayer lived just up the road in Cromer.
I will report further when I have had it for a while, in the meantime, if anyone is thinking of a "C", don't hesitate, go to it.

Thanks for that Roy, is that a book cover or a mag?

It's the cover of a Le Mans 1953 commemorative booklet that is currently for sale on ebay (Vintage Motorshop): http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Le-Mans-1953- ... 1498395227

Chaps,
A quick update whilst waiting for the taxi, the C is back but I have only had a chance for one short run ( during which I got caught in a sudden downpour ) and I have to say I love it. It doesn't really like traffic where it sits like a bad tempered child but as soon as a space appears, it's gone !! Really great fun and the questions and comments from passers by are endless whilst being very complementary which is nice.
I found that the level of interest goes up very quickly once they discover that it is a fully aluminium car which is strange.
When I get the time, I hope to follow up on my article for the magazine about the SS100 with one on the C Type, now aren't you all just really excited about that ???

Upon our return from Italy, the Memsahib and I took the "C" for its first real run out down to Krazy Horse in Bury for lunch, they being our local Morgan dealer.
It is around a 110 mile journey and the "C" performed brilliantly, the speed with which it accelerates from 50 mph to "other faster speeds" is outstanding but when you are not in a rush it will run at 70mph whilst only at 2000rpm. As the ambient temperature was around 28 degrees I am beginning to think that leaving the Hardura off of the transmission cover was perhaps not one of my best ideas but it will be good in the winter.
The suspension mods have worked a treat and the car is now a total pleasure to drive but not one where you can completely forget that it is after all a pure racing car therefore all the minor controls need some thought before you reach a junction for example.
I am very pleased to say that it has been accepted for the Warren Classic in September into the concurs class which also includes a special Saturday run for 50 selected cars to visit a private collection with goodies, food and drinks all sponsored by Hagerty Insurance, damn decent of them I feel.

Chaps,
As I alluded to in a previous post, I have now written the "C" type article so, if you are at all interested, keep an eye on the magazine. I hope it will be accepted.

Neil,
Where have you been. I have seen your name up in lights in the magazine but haven't heard from you, I trust all is well.

As a new member and owner (delivered today) of a Suffolk C Type I would like to introduce myself to the forum. I'm Grantham based and will be joining the South Lincs region later this month.

Interested to hear from other C Type owners

Welcome to the forum and the JEC. I missed you at the South Lincs regional day recently but hope to meet you in person at one of the South Lincs meetings in the not too distant future.

I own a Suffolk SS100, which I love. Reg Lowe, aka Lowbird, is often active on this page and he has owned 2 Suffolks, the first an SS100 and more recently the first aluminium C type by Suffolk. Is yours a traditional one or an aluminium one?

As you will see this forum goes in fits and starts. Some of us use it quite a bit, others not so much. I also make use of the wider forum to get advice about bits on my car which are shared with other models. I tend to do most jobs myself and find the expertise of the JEC and its members very helpful.

See you soon
Neil
