HI I have a 1995 convertable, the alarm has stoped working on the remote.
The battery has been replaced. I have tried disconecting the car battery,
on reconection I get a very small squeeck? The car is starting OK. and the central locking is working on the key. I have located a supply of NEW Jaguar remote fobs, I will have to wait and see if that one works. I have looked at the alarm module in the boot, all conections look OK?
I live in Spain so no nice Jag specialists around the corner.
Happy motoring,
Pete Rushen

Hi Peter, i saw this one on the message board and replied with some info that might help. I will copy it here for anyone watching the thread.
This is for late models, according to the documents 1995 to 2000 as fitted to late XJS's and early XK8's. There was also some comments about US model XJS's from 93.5 model year.
Note : All RF handset transmitters belonging to the vehicle being serviced must be available. If the learning process is carried out without having all the transmitters present, all previous transmitter codes will be overwritten, rendering the missing transmitters inoperable.
Hold headlight flasher back.
Turn ignition key to position 1.
Flash headlights 4 times.
Alarm will enter programming mode.
This will be confirmed by "beeps" from the alarm and flashing led on gearshift.
Program each transmitter (up to 5) by pressing the lock or unlock button on the each transmitter once.
The alarm will "honk" when you press the transmitter button.
The alarm must honk 5 times to complete the programming. Therefore, if you are only programming one transmitter you should operate the transmitter 5 times. If you are programming two transmitters you will operate one transmitter twice, and three times on the other. For five transmitters you will operate each transmitter once.
I cannot disclose where this imformation came from, I don't think I sohould be looking there!!!
Graham.

For GRAHAM R.
HI, thanks again for your response, I have now had more time to try the alarm. I find that when I press the remote the alarm siren now beeps twice, but dose not set the alarm or lock the doors, if I lock the car with the key the remote will unlock the car.
So I tried your alarm settings, No joy, on MY car nothing happens.
I must have a different problem??
I now have somthing to do today!
Regards
Peter.
