Hi all
Picked up my Dads car yesterday and last night noticed all dash lights are out. Most of the warning lights work correctly except oil pressure light is not illuminating.
Interior lights work now after fuse change and I have checked every fuse inside the car and they are all good. The specific fuse for the panel lights is coupled with the reverse lights which are working. The dimmer is turned up to bright.
I want to tackle as much as I can myself so:
Can anyone help with a pointer as to why the lights may not be working, should I remove the dash at this stage and check/change bulbs there if possible ?
Where can I find the engine number please on a 3.6ltr Cabriolet.
Thanks in anticipation.

Re: Instrument lights not working
the main culprit for this is a bad earth for the instrument bezel ,
undo the bezel trim surround ( one screw in the top , and a screw on each side) and remove ( 2 parts )
pop out the end covers from the top illumination bezel , and remove the two screws , the legend will pull out towards you exposing two more screws, remove these and the instrument cluster will gently wiggle out towards you ,
remove the push in plugs by pinching in the ends of the connectors
the circuit board is a flexible version , and can break contacts etc, check it very carefully , possibly with a multi-meter , to check circuit continuity
some advise a new earthing wire from the metal earthing bar to the metalwork of the car ,
good luck
