Interior Light Operation

Hi all, something is bugging me about the interior lights and I just gotta fix it.

During the day, with the headlights off(!), all the interior lights come on when the driver door switch opens and illuminates the interior splendidly (especially when in the garage). However, at night, when you need them for a few seconds, they all (I think) go out as soon as the door switch closes.

That ain't right is it? Watts the fix. Any ideas?

ON pre facelifts, the big centre light, if switched to the 'on with the doors' position goes out as soonas the doors close. The other small lights on the under dash and the rear should stay on for a few seconds and then go off. If yours is a pre facelift (do not know about them) and they all go straight off with the door close, then something is not working correctly.

Mine stay on for a few seconds (94 AJ16). The two sun-visor ones are switchable.

I have a 94 V12 (i was parked next to you at warwick castle , 6.0l RED) and just tested my lights for you. All four lights come on with door open and stay on for about four seconds after door shuts with lights on or off with ignition OFF . With the ignition OFF i only have side lights and no headlamps and with the ignition ON all four lights go out straight away with headlamps ON or OFF. or side lights on or off. I would say the way the lights work on my car was normal.
