Celebration Alarm Audible Alert

Hi Guys

Does anyone know of a way to switch off the beeping that accompanies the locking / unlocking of the Jaguar standard fitted alarm? Mine's a 1995 Celebration XJS.

Will do Rich - I find it a little extrovert for my liking..actually it's just embarassing and very 90s.

Actually, the whole central locking thing is getting on my nerves - it all needs removing, cleaning and putting back together - it can be pretty unreliable on and off and gets out of synch with the alarm or just starts freaking out as I'm driving along and locking and unlocking like a possessed banshee.

I have previously found that repeated locking and unlocking of the car is usually caused by one of the locks not being pushed "fully home" by the solenoid, (often indicated by the restriction of travel on the internal handle) so your idea of a clean and lube is a good one. It shouldn't be too taxing, just concentrate on the door and boot lock mechanisms and associated link rods and lube well and operate repeatedly whilst still open for inspection - that should cure it.

As to the beeping being embarassing and very nineties...........it is after all a nineties classic and of its era so beep with pride

Hi Guys

I can do this very easy with my working PDU system. All you need to do is load the software and reprogram the security options . I done my car and its great now.
