Battery Isolator

With all this talk of flat batteries, has any one fitted a battery isolator switch to their car similar to one that is used on yachts?

My Maserati had one fitted and I am thinking of fitting one to my XJS.

If someone has what kind of earthing straps did you use?

Earthing straps ???? I thought battery isolators just cut the +ve. Remember though main battery isolators will mean you'll then have no central locking or alarm and if your radio has a code that will prob need entering at every switch on.

Surely it would be more logical to connect your battery to a conditioner when the car is not in use rather than losing your radio coding . The CTEK one is available from Annie Jenkins at the Club Tools and Spares shop. toolsandspares@jec.org.uk. - seems to do the job very well (as you would expect from a Swedish product).01909 733209.
