Main cable in transmission tunnel

Postby poprivet » Wed Nov 07, 2018 4:43 pm

Finally got around to replacing the clips that hold the main power cable in the tunnel. Three clips had parted from their pop rivets leaving the cable in danger of fouling the prop shaft.

Simple to knock out the remains of the old rivets and replace BUT,

To gain access, the exhaust system had to come off,
To allow the heat shield to come off,
To allow the prop shaft centre bearing holder to come off,
To allow the prop shaft to be dropped far enough out of the way,
To allow the clips to be replaced. Phew!

Looks easy in the photo!

Yep - dead easy job! (preceded by several hours of fighting with rusted on exhaust clamps and followed by all the fun of putting it back together again!!)
