blower switch fault

1991 4.0 facelift

It seems that it won't turn off even with the key out of the ignition! Any thoughts please?

I assume that it's just one side that's affected? If so, it's probably the electronic board on top of the blower motor that is causing the issue. Your only choice in the short term is to pull the fuse.
You will need to take the blower motor out to assess the board on top.
There are plenty of threads on here about the issue.

If it's blowing hard the relay could be stuck on, just a gentle breeze and it's the transistor as David suggested. Check each side from under the scuttle.

I don't thin the facelift changed much from the earlier Delanair 3.

Hmmm pity! That all sounds a bit complicated. It's unfortunate as I've only recently finished replacing both blower motors on my
XJ6 series 3............and what a performance that was!

Thanks Pop. I'll wait for the weather to improve...............

Oh well. At least you know how to get them out! XJ very similar to XJS. Always easier second time! :D
