Hi JEC,
The water temp gauge on my '88 XJS V12 doesn't work.
The sender works and there is a circuit. I'm wondering if it's something on the instrument cluster.
Any suggestions please?

Re: Temp gauge not working
instrument cluster do have a known issue of bad connections and poor grounding
it does mean removing the cluster, which isn't too bad to do
then check the rear plugs to ensure they are correctly seating, then check the ground cables , Jaguar did advise to add an extra ground wire from the cluster to the body to help out
and then you will need to check the posts and stud connections on the meter its self , it may be faulty , i do have a working spare if required
and give the flexi circuit card a good inspection , they do separate and corrode the copper tracks

Re: Temp gauge not working
Thanks Brakebuster,
Someone who is way better at electrics than me has tested the sender and circuit and confirmed they work.
I need to take the cluster out anyway to replace the bulbs

Re: Temp gauge not working
Speaking of which, can anyone tell me what bulbs I need for the instrument cluster?
