Facelift Headlamp Removal

Postby grahamr » Sat Jul 01, 2006 9:30 am

As the off side headlamp adjusters on my 1994 facelift have stopped working I have tried to remove the headlamp assembly to try the WD40 trick.
The only problem is after removing the 4 torx screws the headlamp mounting refuses to come out.
Is there another hidden screw, or something the manual missed??
Has anyone removed these, I know they have, can you help??

Graham - Basically and to be honest cannot remember exactly but I thought that there were more than 4 torx screws here and quite possibly 5 or 6. I seem to recall that you really have to get down on your knees with a tourch to find them all.

Good luck

Mine had 4 on the drivers side light, and 5 on the passenger side light.
The workshop manual only mentions 4 I think

Thanks for the tips lads. On close examination there were 5 torx bolts(Torx30) One hidden at the top.
The adjusters were well jammed, two days with plus gas and WD40 and they have shifted, hooray.
Hope the setting is correct for the MOT, the old chalk line on the garage wall trick.
