LED Bulbs.

LED bulbs now look to be a reality and there are several sources on line, including headlamp bulbs. Anybody tried them?

With the claimed extra life they look to be a good idea, but how does the light output compare. I am using Phillips high output headlamp bulbs which are excellent.
