Good Afternoon Gents
My windscreen has a crack in it and will not pass the next MOT. Has anyone sourced a windscreen for the Suffolk SS100?
Has anyone had to get a new windscreen for a Suffolk SS100

Neil,
Did you try AutoGlass via your windscreen insurance? Just to cheer you up, when I looked into a Morgan screen, costs of up to £1,000.00 were mentioned. Good luck.

Hello Neil,
Is the screen a piece of flat glass ? When I had a car with that sort of screen (a Dellow ), I just took the frame to a glazier and he cut a piece to fit, but that was many years ago. I remember the incident well as I was going back to RAF Cranwell for the afternoon duty when a stone from a lorry going the other way flew up and demolished the screen, all the broken glass and windscreen wipers with motor falling onto my lap at about 60 mph.
Hope you get sorted , Paul.

Neil,
the one thing to watch for, especially if there is a chance you will need to do IVA at some point is to have the glass properly e-marked.
Have you asked Philip (or Roger who is away) if he can help?
Good luck,
Mike

Re: Has anyone had to get a new windscreen for a Suffolk SS1
I have now sourced a screen it was very easy.
There are two options for a new windscreen.
The easiest and best is to contact Roger Williams, Suffolk keep the screen in stock. But having asked the question I also decided to look at the other options
The screens are made by VE Lipponen who are based in Finland and their point of contact in the UK is Master Auto Glass. The factory code for the screen is TRAC001
Contact Master Auto glass via its Director Babak Farsian via e-mail: bfarsian@master-auto-glass.com, he will then order the screen for you from the factory.
The costs from Suffolk or Babak were the same. The shipping from Roger was more expensive because he made up a box to ship the screen in. Babaks team deliver all over the country and so they are less careful with their shipping because they can always replace the screen at cost. Roger's box is ideal if you decide to buy 2 and keep a spare.
Roger delivered in 3 days, the factory promised 6 to 8 weeks but actually it took close to 16 weeks.
You can also get one made by Pilkington Glass who can etch it with the correct period etching, that is however very expensive.

Thanks Neil,
That's useful information. I will add it to the Links/Parts thread.
I have a nick in my windscreen, so I may also eventually need a replacement.
(P.S. I've also pm'd you on the subject)
Regards,
Roy
