As you may already know, replica SS Car Club badges usually sell for silly money.
The grille-mounted version of these badges have appeared for sale on eBay for £40 (including p+p):

It should be possible to convert these for badge bar fitting, using an adapter plate.

Re: SS Car Club Grille Badge
Roy,
Thank you for letting us know about this badge, I expect you are a bit miffed that you payed a lot more than 40.00 GBP.
If I still have my car after the NEC, I will have words via e-mail with you to see how to buy one.

Although you can't tell just from a photo, it doesn't seem to have the quality finish of the "expensive" version. Only 1 left last time I looked.I expect you are a bit miffed that you payed a lot more than 40.00 GBP.

Trading it in for a Noel Edmonds "cruisermatic" ?If I still have my car after the NEC...

Re: SS Car Club Grille Badge
This sounds like you want a C type again. The problem with those is that only the hard core Jaguar enthusiasts know what it is. Most people thing they are old Mazdas

Re: SS Car Club Grille Badge
Neil,
You are right on the money. It is an itch that I just have to scratch and, as I am about to become a real O.A.P. I feel that it is probably now or never. I have been looking at E-Types for a while but I can't get into a Series 1 or 2 and I don't really want a V12 so I am going to give the C a revisit. As for non Jaguar types, do we speak to them?
I will let you know what the outcome is after Friday at the NEC.

Reg,
Who needs a roof anyway?
(OK, I did the other week, driving up the M40 to Gaydon in a storm).
Will I see a broader than usual smile on Roger's face when I see him at the NEC on Saturday?
Roy

Gratuitous pic of my car at Mercedes Benz World on Sunday.

Roy,
That very much depends on the "cost to change" ratio, also is it worth going mad and having an aluminium one. I need some more info, however, if he has the right car on the stand and everything can be tied up then yes you should see a happy bunny.
I will 'mail you next week.

Roy,
Just as I pushed the send, I noticed that you have gone for the old tax disc, I think it looks great.
I will need to follow your lead.

Re: SS Car Club Grille Badge
Reg,
It's the best quality blank tax disc image I found on the internet, although they are also available to buy.

I put it in there while I decide if I want to replace it on the bar with a JEC badge.
Happy shopping!

Roy, Neil,
Yes, well Roger is a happy bunny ( almost as happy as me ) I came, I saw and I just had to have so I am now going to be the proud owner of a "C" type. Does that now mean that I will have to leave our little club or can I adapt SS to read "Suffolk Sports Cars"
Hope to see you all at the London show in January, we have our hotel booked.

Re: SS Car Club Grille Badge
Joking apart, I suspect we will not be able to keep you out but it might be an opportunity to rename one of the other unused sections to C type Replicas.
James if you pick this up, I would like to suggest that can we rename the Challenger sub section of the replicas BB to read C Type Replicas, because we know there is a contributor who will shortly be the owner of a Suffolk C Type.

Re: SS Car Club Grille Badge
Thanks Neil, it's always nice to know that you have friends in high places !! I like the idea of a "C" type replica section as we all know that there are lots of them out there and I know of at least one in the next village to me.
If it should happen, I guess I will start all over again just like we did with the SS100 section although it may be a little one sided to begin with.
In any case, I hope I will always be welcome to share your hood in the event of rain?

Re: SS Car Club Grille Badge
I have heard that the reason you are moving to a c-type is that you could never workout how to raise the hood on your SS100.
4 of us in an SS100 would be a little tight but I could see Sue and Lynn sitting in the dry while I stand outside and look on damply.
