That’s kind of you to say that.

I feel a lot happier taking the car abroad later this month knowing I have this as a safeguard, plus as you advised the override on the electric cooling fan.

So Ray How has the car been since you modified the overflow?

Hi Neil

Since fitting the expansion tank I’ve had no more overheating issues. I’m not sure if that’s because I’ve not been in such extreme conditions that caused the initial overheating which was in France on an extremely hot day and waiting for the Eurotunnel check points so ended up doing 300 metres in about 25 mins in 30 degrees heat. At that time I didn’t have the override on the electric fan which I do now. Since fitting the expansion tank I’ve not had to fill up the radiator either though ido keep checking it, so I’m quite pleased. Also it doesn’t look too out of place.

On another subject I’ve recently replaced my overdrive pull/push switch with an MGB toggle overdrive switch on the right hand side of the dash. Now I can flick overdrive on and off without taking my hand off the wheel. It’s sooo easy!

My overdrive switch is a push pull fitted just to the left of the steering wheel, following the sweep of the other switches on the standard SS100 layout. I originally fitted my fan override there and then realised that it would, like you, be best of I can operate the O?D without removing my hand from the wheel.
