Rear seat back fixings

The back to my rear seat for my XJC has fixings missing. I’m guessing that there are bolts that pass through the two metal loops at the bottom of the seat back into what seem to be appropriately placed (threaded?) holes in the rear bulkhead.

If these are indeed bolts, does anyone possibly have the specification of them please?

(Separately for me and what I suspect has happened is that one of the threads is blocked which I suspect means I may have to drill out a sheared bolt :(

Thanks in advance for any ideas / help.

From memory, the rear seat backrest is held in position by two long pan headed screws after being slid vertically down and located on the rear bulkhead clips. Mike.

Thanks Mike, exactly right.

I'm just trying to get replacements for those screws. I suspect one of the two has sheared in the past.

Think the screw part number might be BD-13819/6 (which may be common to other Jaguar models - even back as far as the XK), but struggling to find them!

Any ideas on sourcing this or an alternative very welcome.

The part number changed for series 3 cars (to BD 8291/6). It's unlikely the screw thread changed so you might have better luck finding second hand fixings at a breaker's if you try including series 3 cars within your search. Mike.

Just a suggestion :

IF you have one of the screws/bolts - take it to a fixings store (I have a great nut & bolt shop in Peterborough and there is a superb shop in Clerkenwell in London whom are always willing to help) to see if they have anything similar or that will match what you need.

Let me know if you would like the names & addresses of the 2 places I'm on about - I'm sure I can find them for you.
