S Type Cupholder (yes really)

I have just taken delivery of my S-Type R today. I am very pleased, so far it is exceeding my expectations.

One query, the cupholder is an odd affair which has two spaces for different size cups but I fail to see how a driver and passenger could use it at the same time without a mess. I can't be the first to have encountered this, does anyone have a solution worked out..??

I have seen a cup holder expander online - I think on Amazon or eBay which is supposed to fit an S Type
