Can anyone advise me where I can obtain a workshop manual (or even a Haynes manual at a push) for my 1991 4.0 XJS

Best wishes

Chris

It is always going to be a matter of preference but the CD rom is in my view the way to go. Either way the CD or in Hard Copy can be had from the likes of JDHT. Again my view but steer clear of ebay copies of the rom.

hi
CD -ROM from Jag classic parts is excellent and covers 95% of what you would ever need .
Ref is JHM1143 Cost about £13
Workshop manual available also excellent & available from Jag
Ref AKM9063 + AKM9063BB supplement . Covers 3.6 & 4.0. Price about £60 and sometimes available second hand at around £30

good luck

Chris,

In my view, the CD rom is the way to go - print off the right pages, get them dirty and greasy whilst fixing the car then throw them away! Also the CD-Rom includes the Parts Manual as well as the Service Manual, and is also much cheaper than the huge bulky paper manual.

They are sold by the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust, as it is the JDHT which owns all the achive material from which the CD-Roms were created. If you go to the JDHT website and then go their "eshop", you can purchase for £16 incl postage. Don't go to the Jaguar Classic Parts weblink, that's not the right place.

There are two CD-Roms which are useful - the Facelft 4.0 litre Cd-Rom and the XJS Supplementary CD-Rom. The main one you want is the Facelift 4.0 litre. Use this link to the JDHT eshop for the right item:

Good Luck

Paul
