BB,

my guesses:

- Nitrous
- Water injection
- Twin turbo-charging
- A tow-bar
- 4-wheel steering
- Opening front quarter-lights
- Colonel Bogey horns
- Sidepipes
- Gullwing doors

or, as with tomorrow, will it be a coalition?

hmm

now there are some interesting topics there

with regard to ' water injection ' did you know this is almost as good as using things like Terraclean ' for cleaning coke deposits out of the combustion chamber, and is an old engineering trick
the main issue is not too much water as to stall out the car, but enough to get a detonation to remove the crud, the piston tops and the valves come out like new after doing that , lol

i got a tow bar on the other jag  , but it is a genuine removable one

did think about side pipes, but....

so , some great ideas, but not quite what i am attempting next

I think that, in a fit of remorse, you're going to take those centre exhaust pipes off that you stole from under my nose on eBay!! :D :D

Nice to be able to pick what you want to do rather than staring gloomily at the seemingly endless list of things that absolutely have to be done. Immediately.

Steve
It is essential work rather than enhancement if that helps

Well. I've seen the paintwork and I doubt anyone could improve on that. I know the Mulbury seats are well liked so it can't be a change of interior. As far as I know the new gearbox is behaving so it can't be that. Wheels and tyres are already a top quality job so it won't be that.

So I'm guessing its about more power? perhaps twin turbos or a 7 litre engine :D

essential work...?

- pinhole rust on bottom of fuel tank
- faulty solenoid valves in ABS unit

we have a winner......

fuel tank , mine is 26 years old, and I'm getting debris in the sump blocking the pickup tube filter, causing fuelling issues and the car almost stalling , I have cleaned out the sump once which cured it for a while, so I think the main tank is deteriorating internally , that and a very feint smell of fuel when the boot is opened , so probably have the ' rivet ' issue on the bottom, and or a perished pipe ??

So I managed to get a new old stock fuel tank recently ( made in 1998 ), along with a new sump tank and the required pipes, as well as a brand new pump

so will be installing that little lot soon

BB,

I shall collect my prize at Eastern day, hopefully!

I'd also start looking for some new boot carpet and closed-cell foam for the tank mounting. I understand that once you've got the fume problem, you can never get rid of it from the mounting foam or the carpet.

Faint wiff of fuel in the boot? I thought that was all part of the XJS ownership experience

Strangely enough I have just had the fuel tank changed in mine (corrosion and leaking seams) and also have an ABS problem.
Do I win a prize too?
