Clank and menacing burble

The clank is from when I close the door! I've got a new headlining fitted. It looks excellent but I'm suspecting the lack of original biscuit in lieu of the new fiber-glass alternative is to blame.

The menacing burble is from my new set of AJ6 Eng. twin tail rear silencers coupled to the existing tt-extractor system

the ' clank 'could be the air vents behind the side windows allowing the air pressure to escape ? and these can come loose and rattle around a little, unless the clank is in the door ??

Thanks BB. Its odd that the the clank has developed since the new headlining was installed. I don't think it is the doors.

Rich - did I mention the new intake tuning pipes and HB axle brace? :D Are you L2B'ing next weekend? We're making a weekend of it and are meeting some friends in Kent on the Sat.

Meanwhile, some carpornia to brighten-up one's Sunday evening;

Looking good, Rich.

I might even turn the sound down on my new Alpine headunit on the LtoB so that I can listen to your new boxes!

See you next Sunday.

I am no 172 on the ltob run - but for a slight problem...I don't have a car. I have told them that although I can stomach not going on the run, I really want it back for next week to I can attend the Donington thing...will be really disappointed if I can't make that...will let you know as I know you kindly swapped days so we could meet up. Hotel and tickets already booked for that as well.

Mmm - I forget what work you are having done on your cat...

However, you should consider asking the garage to be a little more creative in getting the cat back to you on time. I arranged for my cat to be dropped-off at East Midlands Parkway Rail Station (some 20 miles from the garage) for 08.15 last week so I could leave it in the Park and Ride all day and then catch another train to Nottingham where I had a meeting. A few years ago you may recall my emotional distress in not having had time to clean the cat as I literally picked-up the cat one hour before setting off for the L2B!!!

A bit of pressure to meet a deadline never did anyone any harm :)

I hope that you can make this weekend and deffo the Donington Classic - if not- you should sue the garage for breaching your human rights by depriving you of these events or similar - lol!

Cheers, Rich

...and it's costing me a wad. Unfortunately I have got myself into the position of a blank cheque semi-restoration by constantly adding new bits to be done and an attitude of 'if you find something, just sort it'...oh dear. No estimate, just an idea of a figure that's probably more than the car's value. Still, it would cost more to buy a new sensible car and I am having a garage built to house it....so it's all worthwhile...ahem. Hopefully the family will understand why we've no money to do anything else.

They assure me I'll have it back next week - I should be picking it up on Friday 1st latest...but my confidence is shaky....will let you know.

What will irk me is that the bonnet badge will be a bronze one for a period, until I get the right one back - I've also noticed that the boot badges currently appear to be £30 a throw and both of mine have now gone as the whole car is now being resprayed.

Never happy unless I'm moaning.

BB,

The prices that are now being asked for the plastic covers is ridiculous. Some owners that I know have deliberately taken off the covers because they are worried about them getting stolen! Sad but true.
