Brooklands Historic Auction March 2015

I went along to the Brooklands Auction on Saturday as a nice day out and just to see how the Classic Market is really doing. Suffice to say, it's a bit variable. E-Types are still making reasonable money for clean cars, Early Porsche 911 & 356 didn't perform as strongly as expected with the cars in the £80k+ estimate not selling.
A couple of interesting XJSs sold. The 1994 AJ16 convertible with 118k miles and looking very well presented made only £8200 inc premium. I thought that was a real steal. The well-known Ex-Hyper Prototype Manual Coupe with 6.0 litre engine and steel body made £20k inc premium. For a car with such provenance, I thought that was a reasonable buy.
My favourite? The non-airworthy 1971 Agusta Bell 204b helicopter (think US in Vietnam) which went for £15k. Now that would have the neighbours staring (especially as it would be hanging over their driveway!).
