Dear All
They say you should mention good service and value so here's a plug for Chiltern of Bovingdon.(01442 833311)
I read in a JWM mag. article on X300's that this company do exchange wheels........the alloys on my new car being fairly badly corroded, to the point of new tyres leaking around the rim as a result and not looking at all attractive I gave them a ring.
Yes they could do an exchange set at £50 each plus VAT, restored, sprayed and lacquered, (I know its not "Diamond Turned" but more of that shortly), including balancing and fitting.
Took a run up to Bovingdon (near Hemel Hempstead) this morning, arrived 8.40 am. Had a walk round the (very pretty) village and a coffee, back to the garage at 10.00, the car was sat outside ready to go. I also had two new Pirelli P6000's fitted (they price-matched my local tyre dealer) so now have a new set of boots all round AND splashed out on a new set of genuine growler wheel centres to finish the job.
Result - Brilliant, I think that the high gloss lacquer finish looks better than the original and will certainly be more durable and resistant to corrosion in the long term.
Total Bill inc VAT..........£492.89
I know its a lot of money but when you consider what you are getting I would say that in todays world it's good value and the results are well worth it.
 I'll have to polish the wheels now as well as the rest of the car
Best Wishes

I have a contact at melton mowbray who does a nice job of refurbishing alloy wheels surprisingly cheaply. (Just picked up my re-furbed 5-spokes, I think they look fab 8) )

If anyone lives in that area and wants their wheels tidying, get in touch with me, I'll be happy to pass on his details to you.
