I know I should know how to do this and annoyingly I did have the information to hand. Once. Somewhere!.
I'm trying to pin down the precise date my car was built from the VIN. I know it was in September 1993 but if possible would like to confirm the precise date if possible?.
Could someone tell me where to look this one up please?.
Would be ever so grateful as her 20th (registration) birthday is looming imminently!.
Cheers.

Re: Build date?
Hi ktclm06,
You can't tell the build date precisely from the VIN. If you're sad like me, I can usually pin it down to within a month. There is also a label on the car which can be decoded to tell the the month and year.
The only way to identify the precise build date is for you to get a Jaguar Heritage certificate that will detail build date, despatch date etc.
Hope that helps
Paul

Re: Build date?
Thanks Paul, reply appreciated.
Following my post, a bit more rooting around (re)discovered a build date of September 1993.
Your prompt towards the Heritage Certificate is a good one thanks, I've been meaning to do that for an absolute age and following your lead that is my next job.
Thanks again, as I say; much appreciated.
Keith.
