Don't know if any of you have come across this web site before but there is some amazing footage of XJS racing! :P
Well worth the large downloads.

xj-s Racing

Postby dhdove » Thu Apr 06, 2006 6:47 pm

THANKS GORDON!!!
What a fantastic site. :D
We went to Cadwell Park last year and had a great day out, as you see the weather was brilliant, tho' I guess thats pot luck.
Superb Circuit, woods, open areas, lots of hills - "the Mountain" must be at least 1in 3!!!!!!and great viewing all around the track.
Only two downers, on-site facilities eg food were poor-must take sarnies next time! and.....WHERE WERE THE OTHER XJ-S OWNERS? on arrival we were the only (spectating) XJ-S in the car park and when we left after racing finished I dont think there were more than two or three.
Here's a suggestion........
How about an XJS Forum day (or weekend ) out at Cadwell Park 1/2 July 2006? Could be a fun time and a great opportunity to meet each other at a great event. Weather permitting.
I know its not an easy place for most people to access, but there are plenty of places to stay nearby which shouldn't be too expensive or overbooked.
If enough people are interested I guess we should start another thread?
Here's hoping for a positive response.
All the best
DH DOVE
PS Was it you that "flashed" us in Baumber that weekend?

Gordon,
Thanks for highlighting the website. I hadn't seen it before. I love it.

Steve,

Superb website and the videos are great. Well made too, very professional.
I love the absence of a commentary. It's great to hear the roar of the engines and squeal of tortured tyres without somone waffling all over the top of it. I might start watching F1 again if I could turn off Martin Brundle and James Allen :D I think the XJS racing is much more fun though.

Do all of the cars carry a camera?

I'm looking forward to seeing some more great battles between the Davis brothers  this year.

Are you competing at Snetterton next weekend?
It's my local circuit, so I hope to be there.

Regards,
Glenn.

Hi Glenn

Many thanks for your compliments

No. Not many of the cars carry cameras.

Gary Davis's car has been sold to David Weaver this year and I am not competing in the XJS Championship only the Powered by Jaguar Championship.

If you can, come and watch us at Snetterton this year.
I will be in two races.
Powered by Jaguar on Sunday and a two driver 40 minute race on Easter Monday.
Look us up in the Paddock.

That's a shame from the spectators point of view, I enjoyed your battles with Gary last year. Still the PBJ races have a really good mix of models and replicas. I look forward to seeing who's competitive this year.

I'm definitely going to be at Snetterton on the Monday, not sure about the Sunday yet.

I'll be sure to drop by to say hello and wish you success.

Cheers,
Glenn.

You can get any car which has a Jaguar Engine in it. No one has put up an ex-F1 Jaguar yet.

Usually it is D's, E's and sometimes C-Types. Cobras running with Jag engines, and many other kit cars. S-Types, XJ12's, Lister Knobblys and the list goes on..... Also of course XJS's.

This makes it a very good Championship as all the cars are very different in power, weight and handling. Its nice to compete against something different than other XJS's

I am currently editing last years 'Powered by Jaguar' races and posting them on my web site.
