Simon - my 1996 Celebration has a VIN number about 1,000 from the end of production. It was registered at the end of Feb 1996 on an"N" plate. My guess is that there will only be a few hundred on a P registration.
Hope that helps

David

David / Simon,

It's a lot less than a few hundred. Production finished in April and most were registered well before end July.

Paul - of course the registration back then changed in August - I had the current March changeover in my mind when I replied to Simon! (Fading mental faculties!!)

David / Simon,

Unlike e-types, it was fairly easy for Jaguar to sell the last XJSs. A few were sold late and deliberately held back to register on a P-reg, but there are very few.

The website www.howmanyleft.co.uk might help, or maybe JDHT will know?

Cheers

I know of only 3 at present, the one I have just purchased, the last one owned by Jaguar, and one that was for sale at Clarkes Jaguar in 2003/4.

Simon,

There's a few more than that. And remember that Jaguar Heritage own the last 2 cars built - P40 XJS & P60 XJS

I was just thinking of the V12s that I am aware of.

I am a bit of a V12 6.0 litre 'fan' for want of a better word :D :D

I own a 94 XJ12 and I have always hankered after one of the very last V12 XJS.

I have tried "How Many Left" but that just detail the number that are taxed and sorn'd with the DVLA.

I have been told that there were about a dozen 96 P plated XJS in total.

I have trawled the DVLA website but cannot find any reference. I have read on a news website that certain cars are selling because of the 63 reg now, so it must be available.!! But where next??

More digging today!!

I now know there are 5 P reg XJS's that are on the road/taxed, 3 V12 and 2 4.0.

There are also a couple of other Forum threads that make mention of P registration cars too and 2 cars sold by Clarkes Jaguar but no reg numbers to go by!.

Ok I have had a trawl around the DVLA site and found the following.

In 1996 there were 20 V12 XJS 'registered' and 170 4 litre cars registered. But this would cover N and P registration cars.
