I have a JTIS disc which I used on windows XP, but having now gone to a 64 bit windows 7 it doesn't open. Is there an update that can be down loaded for this? (tried compatible mode but no good)

I had similar problems getting Windows 7 to see and engage with a salvaged ex lap top Vista based hard drive. Whilst 7 could see the programs and drivers on the hard drive, it couldn`t get to my documents or picture files. My tame computer geek unravelled the problem using a Linux program. Linux can apparently read most programs and help align the troublesome bits from the other programs.

Not being a computer boffin myself I don`t know whether the above might help but there appear to be certain similarities with your problem and the one I experienced. Maybe someone else can comment and advise with a greater degree of knowledge.

is Linux an over the counter software product, or a download. Worth a try as my old computer still has all the old info which could not be transferred to the new hard drive for the same reason.

Linux is one of what I believe are the three most common computer operating systems in use currently.

The others are Microsoft Word and the MAC programs.

I`m completely out of my depth here other than to say feeding Vista and Windows 7 through Linux sorted my compatibility problem out. I would have thought a Linux program could be sourced on the net but I haven`t a clue how to use it or whether is is suitable for your problem solving. This is the limit of my knowledge on the subject.

Can anyone else help with this matter?
