AUTOPIA DIY SERVICING - LANCASHIRE

I noticed in the April edition of the club magazine a facility in Darwen, Lancashire called "Autopia", which is a DIY servicing facility with 2 car lifts. I have been wishing for something along these lines for many years as getting underneath an XJS can be problematic to say the least.

Yesterday I went to Autopia as I needed to do some running repairs on my exhaust and I can thoroughly recommend the facilities.
They are clean and the equipment is quite exceptional. Th chap who runs it, Darren Jones, is a car nut and is eager to be of assistance in any way. He also provides endless cups of tea and coffee!!

The prices are very reasonable and also there is a discount for JEC members.

I hope that you will pass on the good word as Darren did say that the take up so far has not been totally brilliant and, I believe, that it would be a shame to lose such an ideal place to work on our cars.

As an aside he did mention that if groups such as ourselves wished to have technical club nights he would make the premises available at a very reasonable cost. I believe the word free came from his lips!!!
