converting to lpg

Postby gabriel » Sat Apr 03, 2010 12:18 pm

Hi jagfans,
I recently decided to convert my v12 xjs to lpg and im going to start at the back completing the job in stages, starting with the filler point.
I want to install a vertical terroidal tank in place of the spare wheel but im having trouble locating a tank for a resonable price. The dimentions of the tank should be 670mm and depth 250mm. Can anyone help with a good supplier? I love my xjs but petrol prices are getting silly once again and the arrival of our newborn son means finances arnt as free as they once were. Lpg or a smaller car, noooooo. any help would be appreciated thanks guys and girls. :)

I to, have often thought of converting to LPG. I believe if you google tinlytech You will find a possible supplier for a tank.

Keep us informed of your progress please.

gabriel,

Don't know if you were looking for new or second-hand? This one is cheap and will fit (but be quick!):

Gabriel
The tank you need is 70 litres 650x270 and fits perfectly in the spare wheel space. The tank on ebay is for horizontal fitting. You need a vertical one.
Go to Tinleytech and scroll down to Toroidal

You can read about my LPG conversion as published in Jag Enthusiast Here

You won't regret it :D

Hopefully the situation may be improved on May 6th, but if not when the sale of LPG becomes significant it will be taxed by Brown and Co to just below the level at which people say "Stuff It" exactly as diesel was.
